Which searches bring us visitors, and which are slipping?

Reading your Google Search Console data…

“coffee subscription” brings 22% of search clicks, but it slipped from 4th to 7th.

  • Clicks from it fell 31% since May.
  • “best decaf beans” is rising fast: position 5, up from 14.
  • The subscription guide still gets the most clicks overall.

How I got this· 4 steps
  1. Looked at your Search Console searches and pages
  2. Ranked searches by clicks
  3. Compared positions month by month
  4. Flagged searches that dropped or climbed

In plain words

How can I keep Search Console data for longer than 16 months?

Search Console only keeps 16 months, and shows it one report at a time. Fivetran copies your searches, pages, clicks and positions into a database Orcabase hosts for you, day by day, so your history keeps growing.

Then ask in plain words: which searches are rising, which pages slipped, and which searches bring visitors who buy.

Ask in plain words

What you can ask about your Google Search Console data

The agent answers with the number, a chart and the steps it took. Keep the good answers on a dashboard.

  • Which searches bring us the most clicks?

  • Which pages slipped in the rankings this month?

  • Which searches show us often but rarely get clicked?

  • How many clicks did the blog get from search last month?

  • Which new searches started finding us?

  • How do clicks from phones compare with computers?

  • Which countries find us through search?

  • Show me clicks and impressions by week.

Questions

About Google Search Console and Orcabase

More in the docs: Sync apps with Fivetran

Why don’t Search Console clicks match Google Analytics visits?
They measure different things. Search Console counts clicks on Google’s results; Google Analytics counts the visits its tag sees, and some browsers block it. Expect them to be close, not equal.
Does it include every search?
No. Google leaves out rare searches to protect people’s privacy, so the searches listed add up to less than your total clicks.
Do I need a Fivetran account?
No. Orcabase uses its own. You sign in to Google Search Console on Fivetran’s page, and the data lands in a database Orcabase hosts for you, so there’s nothing else to set up or pay Fivetran for.
How fresh is my Google Search Console data in Orcabase?
Fivetran syncs it every 6 hours as standard, and an admin can run a sync by hand at any time. The page for each source shows when it last synced and when it syncs next.
What does syncing cost?
Counts toward your monthly sync allowance: 500,000 changed rows a month, as standard. Each distinct row that’s added or changed in a month counts once, however often it changes, and the first full copy is free. You choose which tables sync, so you only spend the allowance on what you need.
